CHANSONETTA STANLEY EMMONS (19th Century) LAKESIDE SCENE. This folky oil on panel done by the mother of the famous Kingfield, Maine photographer and artist Chansonetta Stanley Emmons Chansonetta’s two brothers were the famed originators of the Stanley Steamer automobile but more importantly the Stanley dry plate used in photography. This folky painting depicts a cottage by a lakeside with mountainous background and a sailboat out on the lake. Signed in the center, “NETTA STANLEY, 1875”. Framed in a Victorian gilt gessoed frame. SIGHT SIZE: 15-3/4” h x 19-1/2”w. CONDITION: Generally very good. 9-28064 (700-900)
