DELAWARE RIVER VALLEY WILLIAM AND MARY LADDERBACK ROCKING ARMCHAIR TOGETHER WITH A SIMILAR SIDE CHAIR. The first with four arched slats joined by cylindrical stiles headed by knopped finials, joined to undulating arms with notched cutouts and rounded grips centering the trapezoidal woven seat, raised on cylindrical turned legs joined by a bulbous frontal stretcher raised on applied rockers. The second example with three arched slats and incised onion finials joined to the trapezoidal rush seat raised on cylindrical legs headed by turned rosettes joined by a double box stretcher on tapered feet. SIZE: First: 40″ h. of back. Second: 39″ h. of back. CONDITION: Both chairs with old cleaned surfaces, repairs to second slat of rocker. 9-91736 (400-600)
