FINE CARVED ONYX WALL PLAQUE WITH GREEK PHILOSOPHERS CAMEOS. Eight sided white onyx pierce carved frame has eight round areas surmounted with carved cameo profiles of what appears to be Greek philosophers. The frames center is indented with an eight sided edge with a large 4” carved relief cameo of a bearded man. The image is backed by a reverse painted black glass which has some cracking and chipping. The frame is mounted in a custom velvet lined glass display case, which has an easel back, which has become unfastened but is present. SIZE: 12-1/2” x 11” frame. Case is 14” x 12-1/2”.
