FINE CARVED CLAW FOOT FLAT TOP DESK. European style having a tooled leather inset top surface, molded edge with additional removable glass top. The carved frieze fitted with a long thin drawer flanked by two carved front dovetailed square drawers under which are two open shelves having four fluted and carved posts all supported by eight large claw feet. Sides have three raised panels, the front with two square heavily carved panels and five open arch section with carved supports. PROVENANCE: From a fine Hallowell, Maine mansion. SIZE: 31″ h x 54-1/4″ w x 32″ d. CONDITION: Very good. Some scuffing to claw feet. 9-26901 (1,000-1,500)
