EMILE LOUIS PICAULT (French, 1833-1915) “L’AVIATION”. Outstanding clock with aeronautical motif. Figural clock has a large winged outstretched armed man atop a globe which houses a round white dial clock. The globe is decorated with an early plane, airship and hot air balloon. Base with propeller, anchor, balloon basket and motor pieces. Having a plaque as follows “Des Ailes Des Ailes Pour Voler Par Montagne et Par Vallee (Ruckert)”. All on a square base with title and artist name. Nice patinated silver finish. It mounts on a marble base. SIZE: 31” h x 20-1/2” at widest. CONDITION: Very good. 9-26984 (4,500-6,500)
