VICHY AUTOMATON BUST OF AN ETHNIC LYRE PLAYER. When activated, music gently plays to the accompaniment of her strumming her lyre. Her head looks about and occasionally glancing down at her hands, all the while her eyelids are fluttering. Elaborately costumed in fine attire adorned with a multitude of coins about her headdress, neck and waist! This “bust” automaton is contained upon an ebonized base with the original brass plaque attached to the front indicating the manufacturer (Vichy). SIZE: 20” h.
