FINE PENNSYLVANIA FEDERAL CARVED CHERRY AND BIRCH FOUR-POST BEDSTEAD WITH CANOPY. Circa 1820. With ring-turned swelled cylindrical, urn-form, and blocked head posts centering a shaped and stepped panel headboard, the foot posts similarly carved and continuing to swelled cylindrical feet with ringed cuffs. Fitted with the original tester, capped by spire-turned finials. SIZE: 78″ overall h. x 79″ overall l. x 55″ overall w. 72″ interior l. x 48″ interior w. CONDITION: Bed retains good early surface, cleaned, with good color. All rails and connecting structures original. Tester original. The woven tassled canopy accompanies bed. 9-91693 (2,000-3,000)
