FINE OAK CASED TALL CLOCK BY WALTER H. DURFEE. The brass movement marked “Walter H. Durfee”. The moon top dial over a brass face decorated with cherubs at corners having the label of Theodore B. Starr, New York with seconds dial and calendar/date dial. Two keyholes with original key present. The fine oak case having full fluted round columns with capitols, quarter sawn oak, central circular carved inset bottom panel. The shaped door having a top carved fan and beveled glass window. All resting on four animal claw front feet. The hood with swans neck pediment and beveled glass door. Front full columns match the base and side columns. A fine fancy case with desirable movement. One tube strike and original brass canister weights. Pendulum present. SIZE: 93-1/2” h x 23” at widest x 13-1/2” d. CONDITION: Very good, finials missing. Side bottom molding missing, a small side top molding is missing and the left side vertical board missing from hood. 9-26681 (8,000-12,000)
