SET OF FIVE PENNSYLVANIA CENTENNIAL CHIPPENDALE CARVED MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS. Late 19th century. The set comprising four side chairs and one armchair. The serpentine crest rail flanked by upswept ears joined to the molded stiles centering a pierced interwoven and C-scrolled splat with teardrop elements, joined to the molded trapezoidal seat rail raised on square molded and chamfered frontal legs joined by a recessed box stretcher, the rear legs tenoned and raked. The armchair similarly carved, the serpentine arms continuing to molded grips on incurved supports. SIZE: 38″ h. of back x 17-1/2″ h. of seat.
