FINE BRONZE ORMOLU FRENCH DRESSING BOX AND MIRROR. Mirror with oval beveled glass plate has fancy handle and the frame with crest of basket of flowers. Backside having a 3” x 2” enameled portrait of an elegantly dressed young woman. Signed “LC”. She is framed with a wreath of leaves and green enameling and an outside decorated frame. SIZE: Total l is 15-3/4” x 6” w. Fabulous box has top oval green enameling with center miniature painting on ivory of a young woman. All framed in gilt bronze. The square box fitted with four short feet and decorated with leaf and flower decoration. Box is impress signed on bottom ”Ovington New York”. SIZE: 4-1/4” h x 11-3/4” w x 10” d. CONDITION: Box: Ivory has a vertical crack on right side. Otherwise very good. Mirror: There is a horizontal crack on left side of green enamel, otherwise good. 9-27378 (500-1,000)
