AN EXQUISITE FRENCH CLOCKWORK PHAETON WITH LADY DRIVER. A remarkable clockwork car with a windup mechanism and an FG (?) lady driver. An all-original vehicle made of wood and decorated in a multitude of colors highlighted by birds on the various panels. The fine nickel-plated wire wheels and headlights adorn this vehicle. The driver is dressed in period garb. When wound. car proceeds along the floor and the driver’s hand on the tiller moves and her head turns. SIZE: 4-1/2″ w x 9-1/2″ l x 10-1/2″ t. CONDITION: Overall condition is very fine. There is minor fraying to silk canopy. Headlights are re-glued to frame of car. JL1-2513 (3500-5500)
