FINE CHIPPENDALE PARCEL-GILT AND CARVED MAHOGANY LOOKING GLASS. Third quarter 18th century. The rectangular plate within a leaftip molded slip and conforming molded surround headed by the scrolled crest with incised parcel-gilt vinery centering a pierced gilt leafy crest above the conforming scrolled pendant apron. SIZE: 32″ x 17-1/2″. PROVENANCE: Herbert Schiffer Antiques, Exton, PA. CONDITION: Nice early polished surface, with repairs to right ear facing and various repairs within cresting, professionally done, retains old mirrorplate and original backboard. 9-91720 (500-1,000)
