OUTSTANDING LARGE HAND PAINTED KPM PORCELAIN PLAQUE. Large rectangular plaque depicts two young maidens next to each other. One of the girls in light blue dress with sprigs of roses reads from an open book in her hands while the other girl embraces her shoulders from behind with a smile. She wears a striped dress with rose decorated wrap. Behind them is a fancy framed cherub painting and an expanse of green curtain, in the lower left is a tapestry covered tabletop with a variety of leather bound books. Unsigned but showing an accomplished artist. One of the finest we have seen. Impressed “KPM” mark to back. Back has been mounted with four square blocks of wood with extended bolts as part of a previous framing. SIZE: 12-1/2” x 10-1/4”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-73245 (4,000-6,000)
