EDWIN LORD WEEKS (American, 1849-1903) “THE ROYAL GARDEN”. Oil on canvas scene shows Arabian princess in lush garden area under an orange tree. She stands with hands up toward branches with a recently fallen orange in front of her. She wears a golden dress with white sleeves and wide sash belt. A deep blue sky can be seen through the tree branches with colorful pink and blue flowers surround her. Signed lower right “E.L. Weeks, Tangers 76”. Housed in what appears to be its original gesso decorated gold frame. SIZE: 27-1/2” x 18-3/4”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-94588 (25,000-35,000)
