OUTSTANDING MARQUETRY INLAID MAHOGANY SECRETAIRE A ABATTANT. One long drawer over drop front lid which makes large writing surface. Opens to reveal a nice interior with five cubbyholes, four drawers and central door having one drawer and compartment. All drawer fronts are inlaid with swag and door has inlaid urn. Three long drawers beneath flanked by full round inlay with vine and flowers column having gilt metal ends. Blocked front feet with marquetry apron. Drop front has wonderful colored wood marquetry inlay of basket of flowers suspended from a large bow tie ribbon with decorative outline inlay. The inset panel is surrounded by a 2” band of foliate scroll inlay. Each drawer has vine of flower and bow tie. Sides have inlays of musical instruments, flowers and lyre. SIZE: 60” h x 37-1/2” w x 19” d. CONDITION: Very good. Two restored cracks to side. 9-95821 (8,000-9,000)
