IN THE MANNER OF THOMAS BIRCH (American, 1779-1851) TIME IN THE PARK. Oil on wood panel shows a park-like setting with a bridge over water with a man standing atop at center. A boy is seen on a path leading away from the bridge and two figures are seen above on a level area halfway up a cliff. Four white swans can be seen on the calm foreground water which reflects the trees & colorful sky. In the distance across a large green pasture are several buildings. Signed bottom right “T Birch”. Housed in a modern gilt molded wood frame. SIZE: 19-1/2″ x 27″. CONDITION: The panel has been cracked through horizontally & glued, some minor spot inpainting but in need of restoration. 9-21698 (1,000-1,500)
