FRANCIS AUGUSTUS SILVA (American, 1835-1886) COASTAL SEASCAPE. Small oil on panel shows tranquil ocean having several different style sailboats next to rocky and hilly coastline. Small rowboat is on rock strewn beach. Seagulls fly over large rocks. Superbly detailed with one small wave coming onto beach. Signed lower right “F. A. Silva”. Housed in an antique deep gilt gesso decorated frame. SIZE: 4-3/4” h x 9-3/4” w. CONDITION: Very good. Surface grime.
