GEORGE ALBERT FROST (American, 1843-1907) “DOG SLEDDING”. Outstanding oil on canvas Siberian scene shows two dog sleds carrying each a man and woman pulled by teams of dogs with red harnesses. They cross a frozen lake and the backdrop is tall snow peaked mountains with clouds. Signed lower right “G A Frost 1875”. Housed in a magnificent museum quality reproduction antique style frame with gilt gesso decoration and gilt name plaque. Back having an “Alexander Gallery, New York” label. SIZE: 18″ x 30″. CONDITION: Craquelure, minor touch up. Very good. 9-25917 (6,500-8,500)
