FINE AND INTERESTING GRAND PIANO FORM ENAMEL AND SILVER DESK SET. The long grand piano is enameled on top and all sides. It is decorated with colorful birds, flowers, cherub, insects and mask heads. Piano has three tapered legs ending in caster feet. The bottom of the piano is decorated in rococo style leaf decoration. There are three lines of set red stones along the sides. The front has a push button spring loaded hinged lid which opens to reveal a gilt interior with two covered, removable gilt inkwells and a central flip up watch movement. It has one key wind in front dial. This clock raised when the foot pedal was pushed in, which is not presently functional. The piano’s back hinged lid opens to reveal a shallow compartment with clips for securing metal pens or pencils. The back holds a music box which is wound from underneath. It is wound tight and we have not heard it operate. Both keys for the music box and the watch are present. We have been unable to find any hallmarks, 19th Century, European.
