WILL ROWLAND DAVIS (American, 1879-) INDIAN BOWL WITH FRUIT. Outstanding oil on canvas table top still life scene shows southwest pottery Indian bowl filled with green grapes next to bananas, pineapple, oranges and leaves with basketry plaque as background. Cut and peeled orange with knife is at edge of table. Signed lower right “R. W. Davies”. Housed in a molded wood gold frame. Signed on back “W. R. Davis 1906”. PROVENANCE: Descended through the artist’s family. SIZE: 22” x 35”. CONDITION: Two small patches on reverse with corresponding inpainted areas. 9-98265 (1,000-2,000)
