GLASS DOMED DIORAMA AUTOMATON WITH CLOCK ON EBONIZED BASE. A superlative automaton featuring six musicians in fanciful period costumes all on stick bodies but having Parian heads. The background scenery is of painted trees and a flowing fountain. Simulated sky and trees painted on rear of dome. The finely ebonized/marbleized base contains a clock in the center. SIZE: 24”w x 11”d x 22”h. CONDITION: For the most part, this automaton is all original and intact. Old repairs/reinforcement have been made to the cardboard greenery. Music winds but not playing at the moment. Action works intermittently. JL 1-2883 (8000-10000)
