THOMAS BIRCH (American, 1779-1851) FISHERMAN BESIDE MILL IN SUMMER. Large oil on canvas Pennsylvania scene shows two men in rowboat fishing below damn with large stone mill with waterwheel. A sailboat is seen in water above damn. Man rides horse up dirt road, which shows wagon tracks. Signed in rock lower left “T. Birch” with some loss to letters. Housed in an ogee birdseye frame with gold liner. SIZE: 25” x 36-1/2”. CONDITION: Inpainting, otherwise very good. 9-94295 (6,000-8,000)
