17” HURET-TYPE GLASS-EYED CHINA DOLL. An exceptional glass-eyed, stiff-neck china on a cloth body with china arms and provenance! Ex-Merrill collection (history pinned under dress), this fabulous china won a First Place Ribbon from 1981. White china highlighted with rosy cheeks, blue glass eyes and extremely fine facial painting are enhanced with an elaborate, long blonde mohair wig. She is wearing a fanciful, striped, silk taffeta dress with china arms, bent at elbow, protruding from sleeves. Antique blue leather shoes marked “JJ” inside of pictured boots on soles CONDITION: Fore finger on one hand chipped below fingernail. JL 1-2467 (2500-3000)
