WILL ROWLAND DAVIS (American, 1879-) NUDE WITH FRUIT. Large oil on canvas scene shows seated nude young woman holding green and red grapes in both hands. Two red grapes have fallen to the floor below. A basket of fruit is seen on a bed with decorative pillows. Signed lower right “W. Davis”. Housed in a period carved wood and gilt frame. Stretcher has National Academy of Design label to reverse which has bottom half broken off. PROVENANCE: Descended through the artist’s family. SIZE: 40” x 34”.
