Gruppe.” Plate 14 titled “Melting Snow” is this painting. We are including this book in this lot. Oil on canvas scene shows winter scene with covered bridge and houses. Man walks on road towards viewer. Gruppe described the importance of the man as giving scale and life to the scene. This is an important work added by the fact of its prominence in his book. Housed in a fine gilt arts and crafts style carved frame. SIZE: 20” x 25”. CONDITION: Very good. Cleaned with minor touch up. 9-94201 (12,000-16,000)
