MIGNARD (French, 17th/18th century) “LE DUC DE BOURGOGNE”. Oil on wood panel portrait of a young boy in blue lace edged robe wearing a large military medal and holding a short sword with gold handle while grasping a scabbard in the other hand. A Feather plumed hat with blue ribbon and medal has been placed next to the boy. Unsigned front, but inscribed on reverse “No 918/Le Duc de Bourgogne/Paint Pinx/Mignard”. Housed in a period gilt carved wood frame. SIZE: 8-3/4″ x 7-1/4″. CONDITION: Very good. Restored vertical crack with minor inpainting. 9-26304 (4,000-6,000)
