DWIGHT BLANEY (American, 1865-1944) “22 DEGREES ABOVE ZERO”. Large oil on canvas coastal scene shows sheer rock cliff topped by pine trees and grass vegetation leading down to shoreline boulders with water and hill beyond. Signed lower left. Housed in a fine period carved wood and gilt frame by Foster Bros. Makers, Boston, Mass. The back of the frame having an inset 2″ dia. brass framers label, also impress mark “50 632″. The frame retaining an original Newton Centre Woman’s Club exhibit label with title, artist, etc. SIZE: 34-1/2″ x 27-1/2”.
