LARGE ROOKWOOD INCISED VASE. The bottom marked with impressed mark “G Rookwood 1882 228”. Early art pottery vase having a grapevine with grape leaves and cluster pattern on one side and Rooks on the other. The capital “G” on the base standing for the ginger colored clay. The shape is #225. The neck and base are incised with pressed shells and geometric patterns. The inside of lip marked “A.R.V.” representing Albert R. Valentien and with “613”. SIZE: 20” h x approx. 13” at widest. CONDITION: Generally very good, some gold loss to upper rim. 9-72163 (5,000-7,000)
