ROGERS GROUP: “UNCLE NED’S SCHOOL”. Figural group depicts a black family with the father shining his shoes while a girl asks him a question regarding a book that she holds. His son tickles his foot seated below. Signed on oval base. Accompanying lot is a lamp stand for the figure to mount on, a fine oval linen shade and an original Albumen photograph of the Rogers Group dated 1868 by H. Wood. Jr. New York. Housed in a period crisscross walnut frame with gold liner. PROVENANCE: From a coastal Maine collection. SIZE: 20” h x 14-1/2” w x 9” d.
