CAST IRON MECHANICAL TAMMANY BANK. When this bank was created, it was to represent Boss Tweed; a corrupt politician in New York in the 1880s. It depicts a figure sitting on a chair and when coin is put in hand, the boss slides money effortlessly into his pocket. Painted with brown paints and blue coat with yellow vest and also has “Tammany Bank” on one side of chair and “Hall’s Pa’t” on the other as well as “Pat’d Dec 28, 1873″ on back of chair. SIZE: 6” h. CONDITION: Colors are very bright with some minor chipping to figure.
