MAHOGANY AND BRASS DECORATED FLAT TOP DESK. Probably of English origin. Late 19th/early 20th C. This small desk has brass trimming at edge of top, around side panels and at divisions of drawers. Central drawer flanked by two drawers on each side. Drawers have fine dovetailing and locks, which are marked Secure Lever. Tooled leather inset top surface. Back side is paneled and would be appropriate for a central part of a room. Resting on eight tapered square legs ending in tapered block foot. SIZE: 30” h x 42-1/2” top x 24”. CONDITION: Generally very good. One 3” section of brass molding missing at top left, leather shows some use. 9-25170 (700-1,000)
