THOMAS SULLY (American 1783-1872) PREPARING TO BATHE. Unsigned oil on canvas forest scene shows a young woman partially nude near a woodland pool where she is preparing to bathe. Her clothes are draped over a log and she stands on a flat rock with sunlit woods beyond. Housed in a gilt wood antique frame having a gilt wood artist’s and title plaque. The canvas having a “Theo. Kelley Phil.” canvas stamp. SIZE: 20″ x 17″. CONDITION: Craquelure, minor touch-up, very good. 9-25487 (6,000-8,000)
