UNSIGNED (English School, 19th Century) THE FERRY BOAT. Oil on tin scene shows three children in a make-do boat flying British flag. The oldest boy poles the boat while another boy holds an infant. Their dog stands in water looking on while the father sleeps on the shore. Housed in a wood gilt frame. On reverse is a clipping showing the picture from an auction catalog and an old label from a London auction in 1963 is attached on the back. SIZE: 11-3/4″ x 23″. CONDITION: Generally good with some discolored varnish. 9-98234 (600-800)
