CHARLES WARREN EATON (American, 1857-1937) “THE ROAD TO BRUGES, BELGIUM”. Oil on canvas evening sunset scene shows a dirt road leading to tall trees and windmill. The road passing a thatched roof home shaded by three tall trees. All under a colorful sunset sky. Signed lower right “Chas Warren Eaton” and dated “1901” or “1907”. Original penned paper label on back of stretcher with title and artist name. Also a pencil number of canvas “1252”. Housed in what appears to be its original fancy frame which has a penned label with a different title but having the artist’s name and address. Frame has been repainted gold. SIZE: 20” x 30”. CONDITION: As found with two large tears, several smaller tears and areas of missing paint, dirty. Needs to be restored. 9-72318 (1,000-2,000)
