ATTRIBUTED TO JOSEPH MALLORD WILLIAM TURNER (British 1775-1851) VENICE. Watercolor scene shows the Grand Canal with several boats including gondola and sailboats. The central ship decked with banners from mast. All under a white and blue sky. The canal is lined with detailed buildings and figures. Signed with artist’s monogram, lower right. Housed in a gold frame with lined highlighted white matte and inner gold liner. SIZE: 14″ x 21″. CONDITION: Watercolor is on paper laid down on cardboard. Very good. 9-98298 (4,000-8,000)
