ANTHONY THIEME (American, 1888-1954) MOORING PARTNERS. Wonderful oil on canvas scene shows two schooners next to each other in calm water with a man in rowboat beside which is moored to a post. Several fishermen can be seen on schooner decks and sails are up. The scene reflected in the water. Signed bottom middle. Housed in its fine original carved and gilt wood frame. A fine early work by this Rockport artist. SIZE: 25″ x 30″. CONDITION: As recently found in a Maine home, in need of cleaning. Craquelure with flecked chipping, mostly to bottom center and sails.
