OUTSTANDING 19TH CENTURY CARVED WOOD STAG HEAD TROPHY MOUNT. Large carved wood and painted head has wonderful fur features. Brown and black eyes, well carved and painted nose and mouth. Large spike horns all mounted on a carved foliate decorated wood plaque “Erlegt V. Sr. M. d. Konig” and “Reinhardsdorf.rev.30.Juli1890”. PROVENANCE: Purchased from the auction of the Royal House of Saxony and belonging to Schloss Moritzburg. SIZE: Plaque size is 28” x 20”. Total height is approximately 60”. Antler width is 47”.
