HENRY THOMAS RYALL (British, 1811-1867) “THE COMBAT”. Large black and white engraving after a painting by R. Ansdell. Published by Fishel, Adler & Schwartz, New York. Engraved by H. T. Ryall, Historical Engraver to Her Majesty. Title in margin. Scene shows two large elk battling horn to horn. Housed in its original oak and gesso decorated flower frame with inner gold lining. IMAGE SIZE: 23-1/2” x 36”. PROVENANCE: A Houlton, Maine Estate. SIGHT SIZE: 29-1/2” x 41-1/2”. CONDITION: Vertical foxing lines but generally in very good condition. 9-96287 (250-400)
