THOMAS M. NICHOLAS (American, 1863-) “CABOT, VT. JANUARY”. Outstanding oil on canvas winter landscape shows a panoramic view of a small Vermont village with its Main St. lined with colorful buildings and church. The low hills are covered with snow leading to distant blue hills under a colorful sky. Signed lower right “T M Nicholas”. Housed in a fine carved and gilt modern frame. The back having a 72nd Annual Exhibition of the Hudson Valley Art Association, Inc. Also attached to the back is a purple ribbon from this Association which indicates it to be an award winner.
