MATHURIN MOREAU (French, 1822-1912) “LA RECONNAISSANCE”. Outstanding large bronze depicting a young woman and daughter. They have bare feet and stand on a naturalistic ground. The child holds her mother’s hand looking up at her meeting her eyes. The bronze is set on a brass turned 2” base with a shaped brass plaque “La Reconnaissance Par Mth Moreau Medaille D’Honneur au Salon”. All mounted to a red mottled marble base with brass plaque “Hommage des Agents de sa Section A. Monsieur Mercier, Inspecteur Juin 1905”. The bronze signed “Math Moreau”. SIZE: Bronze: 21-1/2” h.
