EMILE ALBERT GRUPPE (American, 1896-1978) “VERMONT VILLAGE”. Large oil on canvas Vermont winter scene shows a number of colorful houses and barns with a church nestled below a tree lined mountainside. Snow blankets the ground and a partially frozen river is in the foreground. All seen under a bright blue sky with high clouds over the mountain range. A wonderful blending of greens, browns and reds against the snow white ground. Signed lower right “Emile A. Gruppe”. Housed in its original fine silvered carved wood frame.
