LOT OF 11 PHILIPPINE KNIVES & PHOTOGRAPHS. The knives consist of: six large fighting blades, four of which have wood scabbards, one with a wavy decorated blade and pearl inlaid handle; another has a carved and painted scabbard with pearl inlay; another is a blade only which is very wavy with decorated ricasso; and another is mahogany ceremonial knife. Four of the pieces are small knives, two of which have scabbards, one with a wide wavy blade. The other two are dirks and there is an accompanying empty scabbard. Also accompanies is small book written in Japanese and eight war time photographs of battle damage and Philippino children. Another shows Philippine civilians leaving a landing barge. Two photos are of the battle dead. and another picture is of three Japanese officers with Japanese writing. CONDITION: Photos are fine, slightly yellowed, book has a loose spine but otherwise appears intact. The knives are generally good with some loose wrappings on the scabbards. 4-49104 JR529 (500-1,000)
