PRESENTATION DAGGER. 11-1/4” spear point blade faintly marked on one side “PRESENTED TO / GEN LEONARD CAMP / WOOD / BY R.C. WERCK”. Gen. Leonard Wood was originator of the famous Rough Riders which include such notables as Teddy Roosevelt. The Leonard Wood marking is divided from the other by a box done in the same style. The knife has a leather scabbard with brass tip and leather throat. CONDITION: Gray patina with light nicks in the edge and scattered light pitting. Wood grip has small dents and scratches. Scabbard throat has come unsewn and is missing some large chips. The body is cracked in the middle and has numerous scuffs more towards the tip. 4-50140 (2,000-3,000)
