ADOLPHE JOSEPH THOMAS MONTICELLI (French 1824-1886) “SERENADE DE PIERROT”. Oil on wood panel shows a musician in white strumming a guitar, standing at center, surrounded by young women in colorful costume, all against a colorful sky background. On reverse is an old exhibition label for “World House Galleries” with title and artist. Also is a paper with information regarding its sale on March 2, 1967 at Sotherby Parke Bernet New York. Housed in a fancy gesso decorated gilt frame with white wood liner. SIZE: 13-1/2″ x 18″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-25727 (3,000-5,000)
