OUTSTANDING LARGE AMERICAN STEER HORN ARMCHAIR WITH FOOTSTOOL. Late 19th Century. Upholstered in replaced black leather with decorative brass upholstery tacks. The high back formed by three sets of large matching horns supported by a number of large and smaller horns. Full arms with horn supports. The large seat is supported by four horns and six horn supports between legs. Matching footstool has four legs supported by two horns each in square form. As fine an example that we have ever seen. PROVENANCE: George Morrill Auctions, late 1980’s. SIZE: 40” h x 39” at widest; 16” seat h. Stool is 15” sq. x 10-1/2” h. CONDITION: Very good. 9-96868 (3,000-5,000)
