FANCY PHILIPPINO SWORD. Fine early sword with 25-3/4” curved, flat-ground, tapered blade with carved ebony handle and brass ferrule. It is accompanied by a raised carved mahogany scabbard bound with braided very fine wood strips. It has an ebony tip with brass band. The right side is carved in a raised pattern near the top. CONDITION: Extremely fine. The blade is clean and bright with a good edge. The handle has a crack on the right side and a couple of chips to the decorative carving. The scabbard is very fine, sound and retains about 90% of its original varnish. 4-49511-573 JR454 (200-400)
