EDWARD HENRY BODDINGTON (British, 1836-1905) HARVESTING THE WHEAT. Oil on canvas detailed scene shows a woman with two children gathering hay into haystacks along side a shallow river lined with trees and bushes with a heard of cows, some in the water. Birds fly overhead as the sky turns to a light peach color from a setting sun. Signed lower right “E. Boddington”. Housed in what appears to be its original gilt gesso decorated frame. SIZE: CONDITION: Very small repair in sky, very good. 9-926731 (3,000-5,000)
