EARLY WILLIAM & MARY CARVED SIDE CHAIR. 17th/18th Century. Having block, vase and ring turnings. Tall back with central caned panel and carved scroll crest. The trapezoid shaped cane seat supported by turned legs having a bulbous turned front stretcher and bottom H-stretcher. Bottom of front legs terminating in compressed ball feet, which are old but probably not original. PROVENANCE: Found in Salem, Massachusetts. SIZE: 50” h x 18” w at front x 18-1/4” seat h. CONDITION: Insect damage, cane damage. Generally intact with old repairs. Break in cane panel back. 9-26562 (200-400)
