Passing a lighthouse and buildings on grass-covered sandy bluff. Eight men are on deck and the sails are up and full. The name is emblazoned on the bow and stern and on a pennant on the center mast. A British flag flies off the back mast. Calm, white-capped wavy ocean under a light sky. Signed lower left. Housed in what may be its original gilt, gesso-decorated frame with matching liner.
