CABINET CARD PHOTOGRAPH OF GERONIMO’S YOUNGEST SON AND HIS NEPHEW. 6-1/2” x 4-1/4” cabinet card by Lee Davis of Weatherford, Oklahoma. On the back, written in ink “Geronimo’s youngest son and nephew. (Geronimo is chief of the Apaches and cost the U.S. more money than nearly all the Indians combined.)” The man and boy were posed on the bank of a stream. Geronimo’s son is wearing a headdress more appropriate to a Plains Indian – a very common prop used by photographers of the period to sell photos to Easterners who expected all important Indians to wear war bonnets, etc. CONDITION: Excellent, w/ very little soiling. 4-50113 SO14 (1,200-1,500)
